Doug Laird has worked at Skogman Commercial Realty since 2001. In 2015, he was appointed Vice President of the Commercial division. In 2016, he was appointed Chief Operations Officer for Skogman Realty. In 2011, Doug received the President’s Appreciation Award from Skogman Realty. He possesses the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Manager) certification and the SIOR (Society for Industrial Office Realtor) designation, as well as the Broker Associate designation. He was Skogman Commercial's "Rookie of the Year" for 2002. In the past fifteen years, Mr. Laird has provided customers with assistance in excess of $221,000,000 in sales/leasing volume.
Doug has been involved in multi-family management and real estate since 1986. He has gained excellent expertise in the commercial development of warehouse, retail, office, and all other general commercial property sales and leasing, and in land development.
From 1982 to 2000, he was in development/management roles at Cottage Grove Place and St. Luke’s Hospital, both in Cedar Rapids, and at John McDonald Hospital, in Monticello, Iowa.
Mr. Laird has a BA in Business Administration from Iowa State University and an MHA in Hospital Administration from the University of Iowa.
Doug is currently Chair of the St. Luke’s Health Care Foundation Board, Director St. Luke's Methodist Hospital Board, Director of Wellmark Health Plan of Iowa, and Elder at Faith Bible Church. He has served in the past on many non-profit boards in the Cedar Rapids area. He served as Rotary District 5970 Foundation Chair from 2012-2014, and is Past-President of the Cedar Rapids Downtown Rotary Club. He and his wife Sharon have been married 40 years and have four adult children, and eight amazing grandchildren.
